Company Profile

WDS Technologies was founded in 1985 by Dr méd dipl. Ing Ronald Welz. The house was from the beginning high-tech and software oriented. Among the most relevant developments, WDS Technologies has developed for Logitech International Inc. leading products on the market (PC peripheral device software), paging systems and financial information systems. Since 1994, WDS Technologies has entered the medical imaging field and has based its strategy on close cooperation with research institutes (University Hospital of Geneva, Digital Imaging Unit, Prof Ratib and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Prof Hersch, Lausanne), manufacturers and local integrators in Europe. WDS Technologies has close contact with various international institutions working in the medical imaging, Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) fields. As such, WDS Technologies acquired significant experience, in particular, in image visualization, processing, distribution and archiving. Since 1997, WDS Technologies is a shareholder company. In order to benefit from the boosting technical possibilities and the low cost of the industrial PC-platform, WDS Technologies exclusively develops PC based applications. WDS Technologies supports and encourages the use of the European and American DICOM 3 standard.
